Affleck worked steadily from his preteen years, making his feature debut with Richard Linklater's 1993 slacker flick Dazed and Confused and continuing on the independent route with roles in Kevin Smith's Mallrats and Chasing Amy, the latter of which crowned him indie king in Hollywood. In 1998, he broke into the A list with the movie he co-wrote with Matt Damon, Good Will Hunting, but then had more success in the tabloids than on-screen, with a series of box-office flops. Lately has been trying to get more serious with his career, with roles in indies like Hollywoodland and Smokin' Aces. He married his Daredevil co-star Jennifer Garner in June 2005, when Garner was pregnant with their first child.
