For years, it was pragmatic to assume that husband William H. Macy was
more famous than Huffman. Though she drew critical acclaim as the
quick-witted Dana Whitaker of Sports Night, which in turn earned her a Golden Globe nomination, it wasn't until her Emmy-winning role as Lynette on Desperate Housewives
did Huffman become a household name. Still reaping the benefits of
small-screen success in 2006, Huffman starred as the gender-bending
lead of Transamerica, which earned her a Golden Globe and and an Oscar nomination.
