Born to two English lawyer parents, Emma (nicknamed 'Em') spent the
first five years of her life in Paris before moving back to England.
She performed in school plays such as Arthur: The Young Years and The Happy Prince
before she snatched the highly coveted principal role of Hermione
Granger in the blockbuster Harry Potter film series, a part she didn't
expect to get. When Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone was
released in 2001, thus marking her debut into the world of professional
acting, she was only 11 years old. Watson has since only appeared
onscreen in the subsequent Potter films.
