1-MINUTE RESUME FOR ALISON LOHMAN
Alison Lohman earned a scholarship to NYU's Tisch school, but she
turned down the prestigious award in lieu of moving to L.A. After a few
small roles in TV and film, the actress starred opposite Michelle
Pfeiffer in 2002's White Oleander and was arguably the standout actress in the movie. Then came additional outstanding performances in Matchstick Men and Big Fish,
both released in 2003, the year Lohman was awarded Supporting Actress
of the Year at the Hollywood Film Festival. At the age of 27, she
appeared in 2006's Flicka, starring as the 16-year-old lead, followed by the lead role as a pop-star opposite Steve Buscemi in 2007's Delirious.
5 Things:
1. She is known for her ability to cry on command.
2. She received top billing in White Oleander, above Pfeiffer.
3. She performed as a solo vocalist in a Bob Hope show; Frank Sinatra was in the audience.
4. She lives with her longtime boyfriend, a cameraman and prefers life out of the spotlight.
5. Her hobbies include ballet, horseback riding and playing guitar.
Quote:
"I don't want to be known. I'd rather be … well, nonexistent, basically!"
